Updates!

Things have been going well! Kota is sleeping a lot more during the night and staying awake during the day. He has his moments though where he gets his times mixed up, which is okay. He's already a month old! It's so hard to believe that it's already been a month since he's been here!! It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital! He had his one month check up yesterday and he's doing great! He weighs 10 pounds and is 22 inches long. :)

I put in a few applications at tanning salons. I could really use the extra money! Being broke all the time really sucks. I'd prefer a part-time job, so I could still spend most of my time with the little guy. I'd rather raise my little man myself than have someone do it for me.

Oh, sleepless nights...

Dakota just can't seem to get a good sleeping pattern going on. He'll sleep good one night and be up all day, which is good. But then one day he'll be up all night and all day, then sleep all night, and all day, then up all night and AHHH!!! I can't keep up. Just when I think i'll get some sleep, he thinks otherwise lol! I try to sleep when he sleeps but sometimes that just doesn't happen because I have things to do during the day. *sigh* I love my little man though. :)
We figured out how to tilt the seat of his swing back so its in a laying down position instead of a sitting up one. He likes it better now! :-D He slept in it all last night (it wasn't swinging of course). The swinging put him to sleep, but then we turned it off so he wouldn't be swinging all night.

He's here!

Sorry I haven't updated in FOREVER! Dakota made his grand appearance via c-section on June 8th. Since then I have been SUPER busy! After the surgery we stayed at the hospital for 4 days. Everything was fine, that's just "standard" after a c-section. He weighed 7 lb 2 oz and was 19 inches long. He looks just like his daddy!! :-D He even has Mason's big blue eyes. :)
On Monday, the 8th, I went in for my last prenatal check up and my blood pressure was extremely high. So I was sent down to Triage. From there, they sent me to labor and delivery to go ahead and induce labor. They started the Pitocin around 1pm and by 9:30pm-ish I hadn't dilated any more than I was when I first came to the hospital. My blood pressure was going up even more, so the doc said a c-section would be the best option. It's not what I wanted, but the labor wasn't progressing at all, and we had to get the little one out of there. I've never had any kind of surgery in my life, so I was pretty scared. They had given me an epidural a few hours into my labor when my contractions picked up, but it wasn't working well. Not well enough to keep me pain-free during the surgery. So they took that out and put a spinal block in. It took about 30-45 minutes to get everything ready for the surgery. Then they let Mason come back in to sit next to me behind the big white curtain they put up (so we couldn't see them cutting me open lol). Let me tell you, once they started, it was the strangest feeling EVER. It didn't hurt, but I could feel the first cut they made, I could feel them moving things around. All kinds of pressure and pulling. It was soooooo weird! The surgery itself only took about 20 minutes. Towards the end I heard the doctor say "Now look to your right. In about 5 seconds you'll be looking at your baby boy!" Then he came around the curtain carrying our little man. :) He was really quiet till the nurse took a picture (using our camera) and I guess the flash started him because he started crying and screaming like crazy! I started crying too. :) They cleaned him and wraped him up and brough him over for me to hold. I know all mommy's say this about their babies, but HE WAS THE CUTEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!!!! The nurse took our first family photo:

I love that picture! We're going to get a nice big print of it to hang in our hallway where we have a few other pics of us (wedding pics and other 'events' lol).

So he's two weeks old now. He's such a good baby! He sleeps *most* of the time at night, of course he has his 'off nights' where he's up the whole time, but thats okay! He's sleeping right now and its almost 1 in the afternoon lol! He has a check up at the pediatrician on Wednesday, I can't wait to see how big he is now! To me it feels like he hasn't gained any weight, but thats probably because I carry him around all the time.

Found a pediatrician!

I've been putting off finding a pediatrician. I had a horrible time finding an OBGYN that I liked, and I really didn't want to go through something like that again. But since I only have 8 days (!!!!) till Dakota's arrival, I figured I should get my butt in gear.
My mom and I went to this pedi right down the road. We figured since the office was close to home, it's the obvious first stop of the day. The receptionist was super helpful! I really liked how the office looked and how professional everyone I talked to was. They accepted my insurance and would be at the hospital when I delivered. So I set up my first 'prenatal pediatrician' appointment for this Friday! :-D Of course if I find that I don't like this guy for some reason, I can always change Dr's. But going by first impressions, i'm happy with the choice I made.
I figured this would be an all day adventure, but it only took about a half hour. So now i'm back at home, with nothing to do.

Only 9 days to go till Dakota is evicted from his comfy home in my belly. :) I can't believe the days are flying by so fast!! I'm kind of excited for my next Dr's appointment on Thursday. I have so many questions to ask, I just have to remember to write them down so I wont forget once I get there!
Today I went a refille my script of blood pressure meds. Then wandered around the mall for about an hour. Had Micky D's for lunch. Now i'm back home, farting around on the computer. :)

Appointment update

Well, this appointment was pretty uneventful. No changes to my cervix or anything. I was hoping I was dilated a little more, but nope, no changes. Poo. My Strep B results came back negative, which is good. My next appointment is on Thursday with the doctor who will be delivering the baby. This is my last appointment before the induction! I can't believe that in 12 days I will officially be a mommy!! :-D

Eviction notice!

Well, my little man has finally been served his eviction notice! The Dr called today and told me I was on the schedule to be induced on June 10th!! That's 13 days away!!!!!!!!! It feels so good to have an offical date and know that i'm penciled in to be induced. Ahh.... hopefully these next 12 days will fly by! I'm sooooo ready to hold my baby and be a mommy! Mason is excited and ready to be a daddy too!!! :-D
Now that we have an official date set, it feels like we have so much left to do to get ready for his arrival! As soon as I got off the phone with Dr Baker I threw a bunch of baby stuff (blankets, onsies, bibs) into the washer and I started organizing some of the baby stuff we just had laying around.

Man, oh man....13 days......whew....

Charger found + TMI alert!

I finally found the charger to my digital camera! I was getting worried that I wouldn't find it before going into labor and I wouldn't have any pics of me and the baby in the hospital. Mason found it yesterday, in the kitchen, under the griddle (weird, I know). Since it also records videos I was thinking about doing a pregnancy vlog on here and on YouTube. But then I realized that, although I found the charger, I have no idea where the cord is to hook the cam to the computer. If its not one thing, its the other, right? Blah. So now i'll be spending my time looking for that.

At last weeks Dr's appointment (Friday) I was told I was starting to dilate. I told Mason that and he went into panic mode thinking the baby was about to drop out any second, so he ran off to Wally World and got all the last minute baby things we needed. Then he made me pack my hospital bag (which I needed to do anyway). So we're set now, ready to go! Sunday night after I took my shower I realized that I now have leaky nipples. Luck me, right? They're super sensitive too. Now even having the water hit them in the shower hurts like hell!

I woke up at about 2:30 am today and had a horrible headache. I couldn't get back to sleep no matter how hard I tried. So I took a Tylenol, but I got no relief. So I just rolled around in bed, trying to fall asleep, till 4am rolled around and Mason's alarm started going off. The noise from it was so loud and annoying that I made him turn it off and get up and leave for work about an hour early just so I didn't have to hear that damn alarm. Plus once he was gone I could take over the whole bed. After he left, I fell back asleep, haha! I guess I just needed the whole bed to myself. :) I slept in till about 10:30 and when I woke up I was still a little achey, but definitly better than before!

Yay for visitors!

Michelle came over today, yay! It was nice to have a visitor instead of spending all day home alone. We went out and had Chinese food for lunch and then we just hung out at my house for a few hours. It was nice to have a reason to put on real clothes instead of PJ's, and do my makeup. I'm stuck at home on bedrest, why would I get all glamed up when i'm just farting around the house all day? :-P Now i'm just waiting for hubby to get home.

Yesterday I was a bad preggo. Bedrest doesn't work for me to well, haha! I organized my side of the bedroom. It looked like a hurrican hit. It was a complete disaster! It seriously looked like my closet had vomited everywhere. I should of taken 'before' pictures, but I didnt think about it. But it looks soooooo much better now!!



The closet itself is still a little messy, but its 100% better than it was, trust me!

This plastic drawer thingy was in the closet, but I drug it out and moved all of the stuff from my tiny nightstand onto it. Sooooooo much more organized that all that stuff being all over my tiny table!!
It's great to actually see the floor now!! I even VACCUMED!!! Try not to faint, haha! I wore myself out yesterday cleaning. And that was just on my side of our bedroom! I'd probably make myself go into labor if I tried to clean the rest of the house!!

This is my belly at 35 weeks. Isn't it huge?! I went to a friend's cookout over the weekend and everyone was like "Damn, are you sure it's not TWINS?!" LOL! Yes, i'm sure. Just one little boy in there.... :)
I cut off part of the pic because it had my messy as hell bedside table in there. I should probably clean it...maybe after I post this I will!



I got these really cute butterfly hair clips earlier this week. I just wanted to share because I LOVE them!




I got a bunch of other stuff too, but the butterflies are by far my fave purchase this week. :) With the exception of my new purse Mason got me, haha! ;)

Anyway. I have to do my 24 hour pee test tomorrow, for a 3rd time. I HATE doing that. The results are always negative, so I dont understand why I keep having to do it. My blood pressure meds are doing their job. I don't feel any differant, but my blood pressure has definetly gone down!

Quick appointment!

My doctor's appointment today was nice and fast! My blood pressure was better, but still not low enough. So she upped my dose to two pills twice a day (instead of one pill twice a day). They already make me sleepy, i'm sure taking 4 a day will really knock me out!! The doc asked how my blood sugars were doing. I showed her the little notebook where I write my test results in, and she said the numbers were fantastic (go me!). I have to do that damn 24 hour pee test again though, for a THIRD time. Grr....

Back to triage!

I was sent back to triage yesterday for high blood pressure. It was 180 over 100. The nurse drew my blood to test for preeclampsia, again. She blew out the vein in my hand and it hurt. BAD. Then she poked around in my arm, which also hurt, and she finally was able to get a few vials of blood from me. I was stuck in triage for about 4 hours. I had missed lunch and it was almost dinner time. So I ate a rice crispy treat. Go figure that then the nurse came in and said they were going to let me go home, but they wanted to test my blood sugar first. It was 160. My doctor freaked out and started telling me that I couldn't eat those kinds of things and i'd end up having a c-section because my baby will be huge if I dont straighten my eating habits out. I was STARVING! It was time for me to take my insulin, I missed lunch, it was dinner time. I wanted to tell her to shut up and leave me alone, but I kept quiet and listened to her just so I could get out of there.
I left with a prescription for blood pressure medication. I have 3 weeks till my induction, talk about waiting till the last minute to take care of this problem!
After I got home I checked the mail and I had a not so pleasant surprise for me. A bill from the hospital for my first triage visit. $400!!!! So every time I go, it's $400! I've gone three times so far. If my doc tries to send me again i'm going to tell her I can't afford to go. They send me down there like its no big thing and then I get this huge bill. I dont think so scooter! They keep me hooked up to a contraction monitor and one that monitors the baby's heartbeat and i'm stuck there for about 5 hours. They have that exact same monitor in the Dr's office, but yet they still send me to triage. Grr.....

The only enjoyable part of this Dr's visit was I got another ultrasound. For once my little man wasn't facing my back! We got a side view of his cute little face. He had his hand in his mouth. SO STINKIN CUTE!!! His other hand had a hold of his foot, haha! Silly baby! :)

24 hour pee test

Today i'm doing the 24 hour pee test again. It's such a pain in the butt! Plus keeping a jug of pee in the fridge is weird... They're having me do it again because my blood pressure is always high. Of course it's high.... the Dr stresses me out!! So I get to waltz into the Dr's office tomorrow with my jug filled with pee. How awkward, right? They had to draw blood last time, so they'll probably do that again. Another big pain! It's all for the health of my little man though, so i'll do whatever.

So bored!

Today is my second day home alone since not working any more. We cleaned out the salon of our belongings Friday. It's so weird nothing having a job to go to any more. I spent most of yesterday cleaning up the house and doing laundry. I cleaned up in the baby's room too, did some baby laundry (mostly bed sheets, a few onsies). I've been sitting around watching baby shows on TLC and Discovery Health all day today. One day of cleaning and i'm already burnt out!
After all my cleaning I decided to take a nap before making dinner. I slept for about an hour. I was sleeping on my right side the whole time. When I woke up I rolled over onto my back and looked at my belly. Apparently the baby drifted over to the right also and I had a lop-sided belly, haha!




Its kind of hard to see in the pic, but man was my belly lopsided! LOL!

Training the un-trainable

The kid who's buying the salon is coming in for training today. I have to train him how to run the system and everything. How crappy is it that I have to teach this guy to run the salon, and he's taking my job? SUCKY!! He was supposed to be here at 12, but he didn't show up till 1. He asked if it was usually busy around this time and I said no, so he left to go shopping at the plaza down the road. Wow. I can already tell he's going to be a great business owner... Oh well, it won't be my fault if he screws up and loses all his money. His daddy is buying him the salon and expects him to make enough money with it to pay for his own college. This kid has never had a job in his whole life. Who in the right mind thinks it'll be a good idea to buy him a business and let him run it?! Whatever. Not my problem. It just kind of irks me that this is the moron who is taking my job. And it's going to flop horribly!

Hubby's tattoo

Friday night we went to our favorite tattoo shop to get some business cards (people always ask us where we get our ink at). Mason also wanted to have Rick (the owner of the shop, and the one who does all our ink) draw up some ideas for a tattoo of our soon-to-be-here baby's name. :) Well, Mason liked his idea for the tattoo so much, that he decided he wanted to get the tattoo done right then and there. The baby isn't even here yet, and now he has his name along his arm. What a devoted daddy, lol!
Of course I took pictures the whole time! I'm so jealous that his sleeve is coming along faster than mine. :-P Oh well, I still have more tattoos than he does. ;)

Ready or not, here he comes!

I had my Dr's appointment this morning. From now on i'll also have fetal monitoring at each appointment because of my diabetes and high blood pressure. The doc also told me i'd be induced two weeks before my due date, unless I go into labor on my own. SWEET BABY JESUS!! My little man will be here sooner than anticipated!!!!!!!!! I was so nervous and excited when she told me, I couldn't put a complete sentance together! She kept asking if I had any questions about being induced, but my brain was scrambled lol! She said to just give her a call if I came up with any questions. I'm so excited and nervous! I can't believe I went from having 8 weeks left, to only almost 5! I still feel like I have so much to do and everything is moving so quickly that I wont have enough time!! But we are so ready and so excited to finally hold this baby!!!!!

I made pretties!

I'm usually not very creative with my makeup. I put on one color eyeshadow, liner, mascara and then i'm done. I was feeling ballsy today, so I used two colors. Go me!(?)

All done! Man I have a huge noggin... lol! Oh well, it matches the rest of me. :-P Now all I have to work on is that mess of hair I have... Maybe next week.

7 days till the salon closes! I opened about a half hour early this morning. We used to open at 9, now we open at 10. A lot of people came in at 9 sharp because thats the only time they could make it in. I opened a half hour early so those people would have a chance to get in (if by any chance they so happened to stop by). I figure, if they're paying to tan, why not give them an extra chance? Surprisingly 3 people showed up as soon as the open sign came on! :-D
7 days till my vacay. I'm so ready to sleep in and lounge in the pool and have the house to myself. It sucks I wont be making any money, but Mason makes enough for the both of us lol. ;)

8 weeks and 4 days to go...

And I feel like Gigantor The Whale. I may look all cute and round, but I dont feel cute. Round, yes. But definetly not cute. When I get home from work I feel like my hips are about to rip apart and the baby is going to fall out of my va-jay-jay. This whole pregnancy I had the feeling he was going to go past his due date and stay in there past 40 weeks. Now with the way i'm feeling i'm wondering if i'm even going to make it to 40 weeks! I kept having Braxton Hicks contractions yesterday evening. Then every once in a while I would get this little crampy feeling in my lower stomach. It only happened maybe once every 40 minutes, with the pain lasting maybe a minute. So i'm not too worried about it. I have another Dr's appointment Friday so i'll mention it then. Hopefully the doc doesn't freak out and send me to L&D again like she did when my blood pressure was a little higher than normal.

Only 9 days of work left till we close. I've been putting off cleaning the house so i'll have lots to do when i'm home bored out of my mind. And I can finally put the finishing touches on the baby's room! :-D

8 weeks & 6 days to go!

I seriously feel like this baby is about to fall out of my va-jay-jay. My pubic bone hurts, my hip/leg joints hurt, my hips themsevles feel like they're going to explode. Getting out of bed is so hard. Not because i'm super tired, but because I feel like an old grandma who might break a hip if I move too quickly!

This weekend Mason surprised me and took me to Orlando. Kind of as a last "hoora" before having the baby. Next time we go we'll have a baby with us. So he figured we'd go one last time, just the two of us, before it's not safe for me to travel any more. It was a nice relaxing weekend. :) After we got back I hopped in the pool to relax and soak up the sun.
